solely by appearance.... a fox body compared to a 99+, both having black paint, tinted windows, chrome rims, chrome exhaust pipes, and red brake calipers?

This is kinda a crazy question because it's strickly an 'opinion' question. I would have to say that the '99-up look better. Add a wing & some wheels to a fox body and it'll look better. Add a Cobra nose piece & some wheels to a '99 and it'll will look even better. Lots of things make it different when it's your car, too. Which one would you want to climb into everyday? For a daily driver I would rather have a '99. But give me a black fox body w/ 500HP, and it looks better than the '99, to me.

Well I have black 92 mustang gt and a just picked up a white 2004 mustang mach 1. It's kinda a hard decision cause I really like the 2004's shaker hood.

It's what ever floats your boat . I personaly like the Fox Notch my self.
I was at a stop light and a new cobra came next to me and said he Loved my car . That made my day !

Well when you say by apperance i would choose the 99+ because i have a black one with tint, wheels...., but there is no doubt in my mind that what is under the hood of it would ever compare to what a fox could hold. After you open the hood and see the work done, 99+ for style, FOX by choice. I guess it depends on your tastes. I would take them both.
50/50 on the question

Fox all the way. The only thing I don't like about the 87-93's is that you are really limited with wheel/tire choices compared to the newer cars. Other than that, the Fox's are lighter and cheaper to restore/modify than buying a newer Mustang. Period.

Personally I prefer the 5.0 Fox also. More so the coupe (notchback-trunk car). They weigh less and look beefier when "dubbed" right.
However, if you're looking to get a little "apple pie" on Saturday night, you stand a better chance with the ladies by getting a 4.6 bodystyle.

I have a 94 gt and would love to have an 04 Mach.I like the 5.0 for the availibility of parts but the 4.6 parts seems to be growing every day.

My opinion is the parts are pentiful for both really although the 5.0 has a little edge. Choose by body style and looks don't choose by what motor you like better because there are parts for both.

5.0 all the way, I've only been buildin cars for bout 5 yrs but I've always used small blocks and so far the 5.0 has been my favorite because its cheaper, and its easier to find parts, plus you can make some pretty awesome power with it.

Like it was said, the 5.0 has been around a while and you can make some serious gains, even with the stock block, which would save on money and thats more you could put into the engine, but if money isnt a problem go with the 4.6 4V DOHC, the cobra and mach 1 engine are wonderful engines that can make serious power, but if it comes between a 5.0 and a 4.6 2V go 5.0
