That's about the most intelligent thing you've posted thus far. No, I don't agree w/ you. I'm not saying that you, or I, can't build a fast car on a budget, because it can be done. I'm also known in my area to ring the most out of what you have. I've seen people (a lot, or should I say most) run terrible times w/ high dollar parts. And I'm not saying that you can't get a pair of GT40 or 'P' heads to work well, because you can. But to have the work done on them that they'll need to produce, added to the original cost of the heads, will be close to the amount of a set of good, alum. heads. If you care to shop on E-Bay, you could probably find a set of used heads for a fair price. Here are a couple of facts here: A stock '93 Cobra w/ off-road exhaust, pullies,K&N, 3.08 gears & 14degree timing makes about 240 RWHP. Add a little porting(not a 10yr. old, though), a decent cam, maybe shave the heads for some compression, and you're looking at around 265-285rwhp. I've seen COUNTLESS cars w/ countless applications, so I DO KNOW what to expect from numerous parts selections. I also know that a AOD car loses about .5 second over a 5-spd car. So w/ all this having been said, this guy more than likely won't be able to come close to out running his buddy's TA. And just for your info, I've been under the hood of more Mustangs than you'll know. I've owned more than 15 of them, built from the ground up a couple, and driven several Supercharged cars for friends at the track. How does 11.14 @123mph sound for a '93 Gt w/ bolt ons and a blower. Added an after cooler, moved from 3.73's to 3.55's to restore some rpm's and it ran 10.60's @133. Without a blower on my 'built from the ground up' '84 I ran 13.17@108  at the Atlanta Dragway, w/ 133K stock short block, out of the box Edelbrocks, E cam, shorties and an X-pipe, 3.55's & street rubber. The whole point I'm trying to give you is that I think you're giving people unrealistic expectations. So maybe you know how to find a little power here or there, but the average Joe that comes on here for advice doesn't.
