I have a 94 GT. Complete with the stock 5.0. She has 150000 mile and is getting a little tired. Dont get me wrong she still has her get up and go but i'll need a little time to build my a new motor. I prefer to do it myself and swap it one weekend. Trouble is I dont know if I should go with a 351 cleveland or a windsor block. I also wonder which motor I can give more bang for my buck. I am not totally stuck on a 351 though....(Im always open to any suggestions) I will mainly use this car for the street but I definatly want to have a decent run, once and awhile at the track. Im pretty sure I would want to definatly break 300 hp. Im ready to get a block and start playing with it. Any help you can give me with be appreciated.          Thanks MIKE

I replied to your other post but I didn't realize that all you're looking for is around 300 hp. I that case build another 302. Well a 306 with AFR 165 heads an E-303 cam and a Edelbrock Preformer intake or a GT-40 your choice. That should put around the 300 horse mark, and be totaly streetable. Plus it's an easy swap.

I just put a 347 in my mustang. new block, forged crank, h beam rods, Ross racing inverted dome pistons, Edelbrock performer heads. The cam and top and bottom intake where the ones that came off the old engine. The cam is a E-303 and the top and bottom intakes are GT-40. It has alittle over 300hp at the rear and alittle over 400 pound feet at the rear.

I suggest staying with the 5.0 block.   ie 302, 306, 331, or 347 etc.

I'd prefer a 331 with AFR's.

Stroking a 302 upwards of a 327 will give some good torque to get that SN95 frame up off it's butt.

I agree with using the Windsor block.  Those Cleveland heads are massive and it seems like a lot of trouble to stuff that motor into a Fox body Mustang.  Can you imagine changing a sparkplug with that Cleveland.

The Windsor 5.0L, 331 and 347 should be just fine for you.
