Anyone know a reason why I can't use an 89GT computer on a 88 converted to Mass Air just to start the car.

you have probably already tried it.. i don't know PERSONALLY if there is a difference between how they are wired... you might want to carefully read the wiring diagrams and verify that there are no blazing issues with different outputs...
having the exact computer numbers really helps...

Thanks, I just want to get it running again before I make some changes on it. That way I can save some problems trouble shooting if something comes up after changes.
